August Rush.

I cannot believe it's already the middle of August. Summer has been flying by.

Since I've been back home, I've been working on the weekends, and keeping busy around KW. We renovated my bedroom last week! I parted with the Sunshine Yellow and welcomed in Shooting Star [ironic?], a beautiful light blue. We also put in new flooring, and I even bought / put together a new dresser from IKEA all by myself! I'm quite proud.

I have also started longboarding again, finally. Last week, I went to West 49 and bought myself a skating helmet, haha. It's all black, and I actually don't mind it at all. It's always with me when I board now. Yay for safety :)

I'M GETTING STOKED FOR CITY & COLOUR AND TEGAN & SARA!

Also! The last week of summer, I will be heading to Sauble Beach with Laura and her family for a week of cottaging. This will be our third summer in a row going together. I'm really looking forward to it :) Laura has been in Montreal for six weeks, and she just arrived home two days ago, so WELCOME HOME LAURA! I went to her house after my shift on Saturday, and we spent a good part of the night catching up and sharing stories of our travels. I missed her dearly.

Tomorrow I have a photoshoot with Joe. Pretty stoked. I'll be sure to post a picture or two on here :) Can't wait to see you Joe!

Anyway, I'm pretty sure there are some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies downstairs with my name on them. SO, I'm going to go.

I hope everyone's enjoying their summer so far,
Love Emma.

Longboarding, Canadian Guitar Festival, etc.

Sleeping in very late results in midnight Blogging.

I have been home now for a little over a week, and let me tell you, it's been quite eventful. I spent my first day back home longboarding with Harrison around Kitchener. It was a beautiful day, and we ended up downtown in the mid-afternoon. As we were riding through Victoria Park, I lost control of my board and hit my head severely on the pavement. I had to go to the ER, and spent the rest of my day / night there, being kept under watch. They let me go at around 10:30, and I spent the rest of the week recovering. It's funny how things turn out sometimes. I was really disappointed in myself, especially because it was my first day back home. All I wanted to do was spend my summer days longboarding, and getting better at it. I now have to put my longboarding on hold, and I'm not sure how long it will be before I can get back on one again.

On a more positive note, I spent this past weekend at the Canadian Guitar Festival with my dad and my friend Zach, and we had an incredible time. We got to see a ton of talented fingerstyle players perform. The shows were unbelievable, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere couldn't have been more perfect. Everyone was so nice, and we got the chance to meet and talk to so many great people. Congratulations to Calum Graham, who won first place in the Fingerstyle Competition!

Now that I'm back home again, I've started getting ready to paint my room. It's time for a change! Right now, my room is a bright Sunshine Yellow. I still haven't decided what the new colour will be, but I'm leaning towards some sort of blue. Hopefully I'll have the paint colour picked out by this Wednesday, so we can get started. Simona wants to come over and take part in the painting adventure, so that should be fun. Updates and photos coming soon.

Anyway, It's quite late, and I really should get some sleep.
I'll be sure to keep blogging this summer!
Goodnight:)

At the Guitar Festival, after Calum's big win.
